Programming course with R

The R programming course 2021 forms a part of the Master's Program in Data Science.

Course Structure

  • The course starts on the 26th of August 2021 and ends on the 2nd of September 2021.
  • The course will be held in English.

  • The course will take place digitally through live (synchronous) Zoom meetings.

Course outline

The course covers the following topics in R programming:

  • Introduction to R
  • Data structures, constructs, primitives, assignments
  • Import and export (data, code, ...)
  • Control structures (conditional execution, loops)
  • Functions
  • Distributions and sampling
  • Graphics
  • Basic statistical methods in R

Prerequsites:

No programming experience is required for the course.

Software

You might want to install the free and open source software R and the graphical user interface RStudio prior to the first lecture.
